DESCRIPTION

The most common source of Mescaline is Peyote even though it can be extracted from other cactus like the Trichoceri Peruvians or the San Pedro. The Peyote has been used in the area of Mexico for at least 3000 years. It's currently used by the Huichol, Cora, Tepecano, Yaqui and the Tarahumara as well as the members of the "Native American Church" with sects all around the world.

The Peyote has been used by healers as a cure for all kind of illness, like:diabetes,, pneumonia and cancer.

In 1888 doctor Louis Lewin isolated a few alkaloids from the Peyote and created the first report about it's chemistry, but it wasn't until 1897 that Arthur Heffer, a Lewin's rival, identified the first psychoactive which he called Mescaline.

In 1945 another source of Mescaline was discovered; the San Pedro which was used by tribes on Ecuador. In 1970, possession, manufacture and distribution  of Peyote or Mescaline was prohibited except for the members of the "Native American Church" {established at the end of the 1920's today with around 250,000 members} who use the Peyote in their rites.

Peyote can be sold as a powder or small pills (about)1/12".

CACTI

Peyote-is a cactus with the shape of a carrot of 12cm diameter. It's biggest part dwells underground leaving about 1/2" to 1" aboveground. This part is called the "button". There are two Peyote species: Lophophora Diffussa which is yellow-green and the Lophophora Williamsii which is blue-green. Each belong to a different area of Mexico.

Other cactus:

1-Trichoceri Peruvians
2-T. Pachanoi-San Pedro
3-T. Macrogonus
4-T. Validus
5-Cereus Jamacaru
Each has different concentrations of Mescalina and other chemicals.

CHEMISTRY

Peyote produces about 60 different alkaloids, some of them are:

1-Mescaline- trimethoxyphenethylamine
2-Pellotine- it constitute 90% of the Lophophora Diffusa
3-Anhalonine
4-Lophopherine
5-Anhalonodine
Synthesized chemicals:
1-Escaline
2-Proscaline
This chemicals cause less nausea and are more potent than Mescaline. Both are active at 40-80mg

EFFECTS

The effects start 50 minutes after ingestion and last for around 10 hours reaching it's peak at the 4'th hour after ingestion. The negative effects (nausea) last for the first 2 hours.

Effects:
1-Increased blood pressure
2-Perspiration
3-Salivation
4-Dilated pupils
5- Nausea (this is caused mainly caused for the cactus' acrid taste)
Many people don't see to much difference between LSD {ACID} effects and Mescaline's. Mescaline effects are characterized by:
1-Detachment from the body
2-Visuals- shapes and colors
3-Auditive hallucinations- mescaline sometimes produce sounds and voices

DOSE

From 1- 4 Peyote buttons {the above ground part} is the regular dose. Members of the "Native American Church" frequently eat around 30 - 40 buttons in a day.

Mescaline dose is:Regular-150mg-350mg
                               Strong-300mg-500mg

Regularly the Peyote is the most potent of cactus. Even so, stronger San Pedros have been discovered.
