The most common source of Mescaline is Peyote even though it can
be extracted from other cactus like the Trichoceri Peruvians or the
San Pedro. The Peyote has been used in the area of Mexico for at
least 3000 years. It's currently used by the Huichol, Cora,
Tepecano, Yaqui and the Tarahumara as well as the members of the
"Native American Church" with sects all around the world.
The Peyote has been used by healers as a cure for all kind of
illness, like:diabetes,, pneumonia and cancer.
In 1888 doctor Louis Lewin isolated a few alkaloids from the Peyote
and created the first report about it's chemistry, but it wasn't until
1897 that Arthur Heffer, a Lewin's rival, identified the first
psychoactive which he called Mescaline.
In 1945 another source of Mescaline was discovered; the San Pedro
which was used by tribes on Ecuador. In 1970, possession,
manufacture and distribution of Peyote or Mescaline was prohibited
except for the members of the "Native American Church"
{established at the end of the 1920's today with around 250,000
members} who use the Peyote in their rites.
Peyote can be sold as a powder or small pills (about)1/12".
