Peter Kurten - "The Monster of Dusseldorf" He was one of the most appalling Serial Killers ever. The oldest of 10 children, he was raised in a sickening environment where his father used to rape his wife in from of him and his sister with whom he also committed incest. He was taught by a neighbor how to torture and masturbate animals and developed a sadistic pleasure for bestiality with all kinds of animals like pigs, sheep, goats and swans. He particularly liked stabbing them while having intercourse with the animal. "In the case of Ohliger, I also sucked the blood from the wound on her temple, and from Scheer from the stab in the neck. From the girl Schulte I only licked the blood from her hands. It was the same with the swan in the Hofgarten. I used to stroll at night through the Hofgarten very often, and in the spring of 1930 I noticed a swan sleeping at the edge of the lake. I cut its throat. The blood spurted up and drank from the stump and ejaculated." He was arrested many times starting in 1899. In 1921 he got married after threatening his lover to kill her if she didn't accepted. When he was out looking for a victim he was not very selective. Since his motive was not always self-sexual gratification. He would choose among men, women and children. It was the act of killing that produced and intense pleasure on him; so intense that sometimes he would ejaculate while remembering his crimes. One of his many victims was Rosa Ohliger, an 8-year-old girl who he stabbed 13 times before burning the body. Another was a 45 year old man who he stabbed in the neck and head repeatedly. He usually, in a matter of seconds, would scrutinize his victims trying to determine if she or he would be sexually gratifying to murder. After the decision is taken he would react immediately. He used all kinds of tools to murder his victims including his bare hands. In 1930, after letting one of his victims go, Peter Kurten was arrested and confessed to the crimes. He was sentenced to the guillotine where he was executed in 1931. His last wish was to "Hear his own blood spurting after his neck was severed." "I have no remorse. As to whether recollection of my deeds make me feel ashamed. I will tell you. Thinking back to all the details is not at all unpleasant. I rather enjoy it"
