Why become a vegetarian when that meat taste so delicious? Is easier to say "fuck it, i will die anyway" or something more stupid like "They are animals and god created them for us".
If it's true that humans are different from animals the only difference i see is ego, stupidity, greed and selfishness. Oh yeah, i forgot, we can think (which has grant us the position of the most successful predators on the planet) but who the fuck told humans that this capacity grant us the ownership of the planet and species or make us superior ,why not flying, night vision or any of the millions capacities other animals have and we lack? Of course is easier to close your eyes and ears and pretend everything is ok. Making changes is difficult ; laziness is other of our virtues.
Imagine that some superior beings came over to our planet ,claim it as theirs, adapt it to their likes and made us work for them. Scary right? That is what we have done to this planet and most of the species, we have adapted them to our ways. Who said slavery was over? We have millions of animals in cages that are been mutilated and mistreated just to end up in a slaughterhouse. What did you said? That they can't feel? Take your head out of your ass. Why do you think they scream? Animals have nervous systems which is the anatomical base for pain (along with a brain that can function analyzing the sensation of pain and discomfort).
We most get in contact with ourselves and clean our minds from what has been established. We most realize that we are been bombarded by all kind of propaganda: the church sell us ego, the government sell us limits and the big companies tell us what we need turning most of us into frustrated consumerists. We most clear our mind and realize that our ways are killing our only home, the species and ourselves. Our ways are making the rich, richer and so the poor, poorer.
Is about time we learn the facts about the consequences of our acts and make a positive change.
