"And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them"
Serial killers are those individuals who kill more than 3 people within an extended length of time with an emotional "cooling of period" between each incident (The A to Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers,P-263). This "cooling of Period" can fluctuate between a week and a few years in which the urge to kill builds up until it pushes them to the limit. For many killing is a substitute for sex and some even attain orgasm while murdering their victim. Many of them, specially the Sexual Psychopaths were victims of physical and emotional abuse in their childhood even though there are some like Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer that came from stable and common homes. According to the FBI findings, 42 percent of Serial Killers have suffered severe physical abuse as children, 43 percent were sexually molested and a full 74 percent were subjected to ongoing psychological torture (The A to Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers,P-293). Most Serial Killers (76%) are white males and (84%) are American. The majority behave like normal people with more than average IQ. There are some characteristics in their childhood: *Enuresis = Extended bed wetting (beyond 12 years old) *Pyromaniac Tendencies *Animal Torture There are for types of Serial Killers: *Visionary Killers - These people murder in response to an inner-voice that commands them to kill. *Mission Oriented - These people murder in order to rid the world of a particular type of person. *Hedonistic Thrill-seeking - These people derive sexual pleasure from murdering. *Power-control Oriented - These people typically employ a significant amount of torture in the killing process. They revel in having complete control over the victim.
